AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORK with Athens' nationally-acclaimed publisher:
- One-semester (or longer, on occasion) internships available providing exposure to most aspects of the book publishing process, including: acquisitions, editorial research, copyediting/proofreading, graphic design, book design and composition, marketing, publicity, sales, and general office operations.
- Internships are 10-15 hours per week and are unpaid. Schedules are flexible and the work environment is casual. Internships are available during fall, spring, and summer semesters. Downtown location (convenient to the UGA campus).
- Internships are structured and include a thorough overview of our office operations and publishing program as well as complete access to our library of recommended reading materials.
- Internships are open to all majors, but Graphic Design and Journalism/Public Relations majors are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Journalism and public relations majors may have the opportunity to focus their work in marketing, including: print/radio/tv media contact, public relations, advertising, author promotions (event planning), copy writing, web page design, sales promotion, and Internet marketing.
- Graphic design majors will have the opportunity to design and compose (typeset) books, including cover design, as well as prepare marketing materials for print and online promotions.
- We are not in need of any editorial interns at this time.
